As school council our roles and responsibilities are:
- to be an excellent role model for other pupils – demonstrate our school values
- to represent the views of others, even when we may not agree with that view
- to contribute and share ideas and thinking at meetings
- to share our class ideas at School Council meeting
- to share School Council proposals with our class
- to have regular meetings and discussions with our class
All school councillors have to attend meetings regularly and discuss a whole range of issues including:
- the school values
- healthy eating in school
- the school environment
- school uniform
- improving the playground
- after school activities
School Councillors are responsible for ensuring that decisions at meetings are carried out. In addition, the School Council sometimes help to write special project bids; to help the school to get additional funds from outside agencies. The School Council is also involved in fund raising for our chosen charities. In the past these have been: Comic/Sports Relief, Cancer Research, MacMillian and Christmas Jumper Day (in aid of Save the Children). Alongside this, they also help to raise funds for our school.
